Feeling at Home. Adapting to Routines.

Josi is such a precious puppy. The first few weeks were tough I will admit. Now she is learning by leaps and bounds. She is doing well with potty training. She sleeps 3-4 hours at night without needing to go out. Sophie and she play well together. She is getting very big, which makes playing with Sophie fun. She is still fearful of people and big dogs that go by the house when we are outside. In 5 days we will complete her shots and we can begin walks, and Doggie World,  and socialization with other dogs besides Sophie. I am looking forward to it. It is time she learns to walk well with me, not just in the yard and across the street. Time for bones,..Yum! Almost as tall as Sophie. Got a pink Flamingo from Pupbox. Josi loves natural bones.

Growing Up Nicely

It has been a busy week since the last post. Poor Josi developed gastritis and poops. The Vet fixed her up real good and checked her for any problems. She is much better now with medicine. I am not sure what caused it since she loves to dig in the grass and they sprayed recently. Some things in this environment I cannot control which makes it hard for training. She is growing taller and today mastered going up and down the stairs. She now shakes for treats. I am so impressed with her learning ability. She might even be a touch smarter than Sophie. We are still working through potty training with good and bad days depending on the weather. Rain all day makes potty training harder. (We have had a few).  She has learned where the treats are and when she gets bologna.  My dogs have a rough life. Do we have enough toys and chewies? Playtime Love it how they play Getting bigger can climb on Sophie. Love my bones and the basket. Tired Upside down tired. Hesitant. Contemplating....

Second Shots done. Up from 14.7 lbs to 20.7 lbs.

Josi gained 6 pounds in 3 weeks. Yikes she growing fast and eating well.  She takes a lot of naps so I can recover. She self entertains and plays well with Sophie. We started leash walking today since the vet said ok as long as we stay with walking. Josi is already walking much better with me in the yard. She goes potty outside 90% of the time. The 10% failure is me not being on top of things. Night times are going very well. She sleeps 2-5 hours without needing to go out. Overall we are making progress. I find it amusing that puppies and children like the container instead of the toys. Josi insists on chewing her basket, instead of the chews in the basket.  Enjoys her crate. Yum, bones. I don't have enough toys! I am exhausted trying to find the right one.

Happy Puppy

Josie is acclimating herself to our routines. She naps a lot. She requires lots of supervision since she has a great love for electrical wires. She sleeps 2-4 hours at night. We have been taking her out around 3 times a night with perfect potty habits at night. The day time is another story. For the most part she uses the pee pads and outside. Crate time is still hard on her. I only leave her for a hour or so, but she is so used to me home that it upsets her. Sophie and Josi are playing well now. Josi recently did the butt turning maneuver, so she is learning fast and growing up. Watching Sophie eat chewies. Toys galore Drink up Self entertaining. Happy puppy.

Challenging moments.

2 October 2020 Josie is a very smart puppy. She is very headstrong and a handful. I did not realize how easy a puppy  Sophie was until now. I've had a few labs that were similar, so now I need to rethink my training. Potty training is not always successful, but Josie is only 10 weeks old. I have tried to eliminate the pee pads, but I think I will need to keep them for a while. I had to make the playpen area smaller since Josie would move it all over the place and into furniture. Josie can now go up the stairs, but not down. The study is up there and there are too many electrical wires that she can get into. We have had to barricade the stairs. She is wide open and into everything.  My sleeping beauty. Snuggled up after bath. Play time Chewy Time
