One Year Old 23 July 2021

Well its official,..we made it through the first year of my lovely Josi's puppyhood. It has definitely been memorable. Josi is very smart, and also very destructive, but we have survived. Since  hiring Deb Dikeman to Train her she is amazingly better. Her hair is back from the shaving and I like the new groomer better. We will continue to fine tune behavior issues, but Josi is a wonderful, loving dog. Am I pretty? Mommy's chair Belly up in Mommas chair.

The end of April I took Josi and Sophie to the groomers. She had some matting so the groomer shaved her completely. I was shocked and very disappointed. Poor Josi was naked for vacation. In May we went on vacation to Melbourne Beach. The trip was good, but Josi increased her prey drive, so walking her became difficult at times. There were plenty of rabbits and squirrels to make her want to pull and chase. She also wanted in the queen bed with us. I am a poor trainer so things were unpleasant at times. I took the dogs to a nice dog park which solved the activity issue. Since vacation Josi's prey drive made things worse and the fact that she is 62 pounds scared me. We hired another trainer and that has made all the difference. She needed a halti collar and a firmer master. I look forward to the next months progress. My shaved doodle. Besties. Eating together, finally feeding time is easy. Love my toys. Relaxing in Mel Beach I like camping. Toys anyone? Napping in the study.

9 Months Old/Bad Hair Days

Josi is growing big and strong. She weighs 58 pounds now. I have been brushing her daily or every other and still have some matting to cut out around the neck and face. Spoke with my groomer to have her shorten her hair to make it manageable. I guess she did not want to mess with the matts. I came to pick her and Sophie up and I had a naked Josi. It will grow out, but I was shocked and upset. Not sure she is going back to this groomer.  On a good note, the two are now eating side by side without stealing. Progress is awesome. My naked doodle.  Yeah they are finally eating together.

Josi has been filling out and growing up. She graduated puppy school and is following commands when she wants to. She is no longer crated and has been good at home alone with Sophie.  She is 58 pounds and quite the pup. We love her dearly, but there are moments. Last week we took Josi on her first RV trip to Cabana Club RV Resort. The first night our slides would not come out, so we were all cramped. She was quite the trouper. Luckily a repairman was able to fix them and we could stay the 4 nights as planned. They had a great dog park so both girls played hard every day. My beauty after grooming They both love the interactive toys Tired baby. Belly up. Our campsite 192 spoiled with a bone to chew Momma and her girls.

Growing up Slowly.

Josi has been going to dog school and is learning how to sit, down, stay and heel. So far the heel is doing pretty good.  Today we went in to weigh for our next dose of heart worm medication. Josi weighed in at 56 pounds, up 12 pounds from last month. Over all Josi is doing much better in the behavior department. Josi is the only dog I have ever owned that can open the toilet seat and take a drink. We had to remove the cloth cover so she cannot open it. She is very smart and resourceful. She is fitting in nicely and very at home now. Crashed with interactive toys. What a beauty! Sitting pretty in Momma's chair. Ready for St. Patty's day. Loves to get all the squirrels out of the log.
